John Anderson Wall Street Journal Feel guilty, viewers, if you must, but few productions better showcase the dynamics of “unscripted” and ostensibly nonfiction television. Aug 8, 2024 Full Review Melissa Camacho Common Sense Media This kind of dysfunctional behavior points to a lack of concern about the young dancers' psychological and emotional well-being, and does so under the guise of reality entertainment. Aug 27, 2024 Full Review Alex Vena Decider While critics may think Dance Moms: A New Era is resting on the flagship series' laurels, it's apparent that the new iteration, helmed by Hampton's authentic tough love and direction, launches a solid ensemble cast... L B If you’re looking for a headache you’ll find it here. Constant fighting, verbally, some physical and that’s the moms. Many of the children, though talented, come across as fresh, spoiled and entitled. Quite a few of the dance themes were very dark and though I appreciate pertinent topics being addressed through dance, it was just too much. Though I’m sure Glo is a great dance teacher, her personality and the show falls flat and I found myself turning off quite a few episodes. I’m sorry because I was very much looking forward to this new series. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/05/24 Full Review Freshy S There are some many things wrong with this show I don't know where to begin. Well I don't have the biggest problem with glow it isn't her fault that she took this opportunity. As long as she doesn't disrespect abby lee Miller I feel like there's no problem. With that out the way, some of the dancers are just straight up stupid. But for the most part my biggest problem with this series is that these dancers don't win. What made Abby Lee interesting is the fact that she always wins. And if she doesn't win she wins the next time. These girls we're winning like fourth place and all that that is unacceptable. We shouldn't glorify people who get fourth place or don't place. We want to see a show about how great these artists are. But instead you're going to glorify these kids for winning fourth place on national television and then allow these children to talk back to their mom and hit their mom and be so disrespectful on this show. My other issue is how bad these kids are. There was some level of a child's place in Abby Lee show. She had certain standards. It's okay for children to talk but initials these children talk way too much and when they talk they sound awful and ridiculous. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/18/24 Full Review Ryleigh W Audrey and her mother are awful. It really makes me not like it like I feel like I’m biting my tongue most of the time it’s cringe. It’s nowhere near like the old dance moms other than it’s like the same storyline like Audrey is the new maddie. Also, the adults act like children. It’s just really hard to watch. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/16/24 Full Review Robin S OMG....the crying! Every episode the girls are crying!! It gets old real quick. I'm not sure I would want to watch season 2 if they even have it. And the back talk from the girls is insane. I'm sure some of it was scripted but almost all of them have such bad attitudes. Don't even get me started on the moms. The constant fighting is beyond over the top. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/13/24 Full Review autumn c Maybe it’s because I loved the original dance moms, but this is a hard watch for me. The moms in the show are definitely over the top, and I hated having to watch the GIRLS be nasty to each OTHER. The show in general was mildly entertaining, I could see myself watching it if there was nothing else on. Otherwise, I really could care less if they make a season 2, because I personally will not be watching. The attitudes of the girls on the show is so hard for me to watch, and it’s especially worse having to watch the moms encourage that behavior. One thing I loved about OG Dance Moms was the fact that all the girls were so sweet and kind to one another! This show is devoid of this aspect completely. Can’t recommend this to anyone. I’d say you’re better off watching the original. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/12/24 Full Review Cerys H This show stays true to the original whilst also feeling new and fresh, its exciting to follow a new studio and see how they do things and the drama is just the same as before in the best way. would love a season 2.
