Alison Herman Variety House of David seems to take its appeal for granted: the show is based on one of the most famous stories ever told, and therefore has no need to explain what’s going on or why we should care. In reality, the opposite is true. Mar 1, 2025 Full Review Monique Jones Common Sense Media This series wants to bring biblical stories to the level of Game of Thrones. Mar 19, 2025 Full Review Martin Carr CBR To watch a show like House of David, that manifests the word of God as something tangible is both brave and brazen in contemporary society. To weave it into a moral fable set in the Middle East at this political point in time also carries some weight. Rated: 8/10 Mar 19, 2025 Full Review Peter T. Chattaway Christianity Today Mostly, I’m curious to see how the series follows the template that it’s setting for itself... The shepherd’s story gets a lot more earthbound after this. House of David may have to pad its story even more to keep the fantasy alive. Mar 1, 2025 Full Review Joel Keller Decider While House Of David is a good looking series with good performances, none of the characters are made more interesting than how they’re depicted in the Bible. Feb 28, 2025 Full Review Brett McCracken The Gospel Coalition House of David does a commendable job of being both narratively interesting and biblically faithful. ehinomen o I absolutely loved season one. Can't wait for season two. This movie is absolutely amazing A must watch. A truly exceptional movie. I hope this movie gets to season 10 Thanks for this life transforming beauty of a movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/15/25 Full Review todd F. I thought it was amazing. I realized that it is not biblically accurate. I think there was a lot of compromise from. Let's say making something that is appealing, entertaining and directionally correct to something that is more precisely documenting. The history is a totally different movie and frankly, I think they did an outstanding job a presenting and keeping us interested in keeping us focused on the important themes and whatever they omitted is just artistic Lee OK with me I'm OK with that because they made a great story they did it in whatever how many other episodes I followed it I loved it and I'm looking forward to taking in season two and as much as I would like things to be more accurate and more precise and more documented as to what the Bible is even the Bible is an interpretation so I'm just saying that they presented the subject well and made it entertaining and informative and I understand the biblical scholars are gonna probably have trouble with this but they're missing the point because we are now interested in David Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/12/25 Full Review joe R UN BIBLICAL. Sadly you took the biblical book of David and you made it into a man-made Hollywood theme of man-made ideology I see a lot of people saying they liked it but sadly it’s on biblical the book was already written all you had to do was stick to the truth button instead it’s man-made and it’s not accurate. I had to turn it off after it just kept getting more unreal Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/12/25 Full Review Mike O There are some errors in terms of the Biblical narrative and law, but overall an incredible series. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/11/25 Full Review Michael W. I really thought this show would be corny, but to my pleasant surprise it has kept my attention each and every episode. It’s made me forget that I know how David’s story ends. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/08/25 Full Review Ashlee R Great acting! Great director! Great Story!
