Critics Consensus

Severely lacking narrative momentum, this latest eat-the-rich caper only manages to strand its audience at sea with Malice.

Still, this six-episode series, while being essentially indistinguishable from so many others of its ilk, goes above its own pay grade when Jamie starts smelling a rat likely living in his posh London digs now. That’s when the series kicks into high gear. Go to Full Review

Since it’s clear from the title what sort of show this is, the mind goes to a number of reasonable suppositions, and though the particulars are saved for the finale, the generalities are made clear enough early on. Go to Full Review

...the underdog-bringing-down-the-wealthy story is great fun, and although there are few likeable characters, Duchovny and Whitehall are terrific, and at just six episodes it’s classic binge viewing. Go to Full Review

Led by four-time Emmy nominee David Duchovny as Jamie and Jungle Cruise's Jack Whitehall as Adam, Malice proves to be one of the most effective takes on the family infiltrator genre yet, and that's largely down to just how much of a slow burn it is. Go to Full Review

It's a watchable series that fulfills its premise, but it treads familiar ground, already explored with greater clarity and power by other recent productions.[Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Beautifully shot and full of twists, this series reaches for gripping and intense drama, but its underwritten characters render the emotional impact toothless. Go to Full Review

MaryJane S @MJGoddess 1h THE ENDING WAS DUMB!!!!!!! A waste of time of watching for it to end the way it did.. Smh he got away with murder when the man had absolutely nothing to do with his dads death.. Basically the bad guy won even after ruining the man’s life which was even from that point but they had to kill him and then Adam walks away free and happy.. TF SMH WASTE OF TIME!!!! See more Emmett B 3h This did disappoint, even having seen the light side of Jack Whitehall he fails to convince me in the role. Although a bold departure from his usual Stan up and light TV shows. I do like Jack, he seems a sincere person in real life whilst also appearing slightly awkward. This might be in part due to his character, whilst being embedded with the family, him and the nasty incidents happening to the family seem quite detached from one another. With the drive for content from the plethora of streaming platforms the overall quality of content is reducing. There are far better offering available than this and so I would suggest staying clear of it. I recall seeing the first IT series when I was young. It was in two parts with the first part building brilliantly only for me to be disappointed with the second part once I found out IT was a spider. This definately wasn't brilliant but it was building at a nice pace only to be over in a flash with a disappointing ending. See more Craig B 14h Malice is certainly an intriguing watch. It was onteresting watching David Duchovny as a real douche bag, plus Jack Whitehall as a particularly sinister character. The problem is there are so many plot holes, and quite frankly, Adam (Jack Whitehall's character) gets away with way too much, and way too easily. Plus a very unsatisfying ending. See more Shayne A 23h I liked this alot can't wait for season 2 See more 1d The main character is more like a caricature of a villain. Whitehall’s overacting is cringe. Far fetched and unbelievable plot. Viewers be warned this series depicts animal cruelty on a number of occasions. The show can’t decide whether it’s a comedy or a thriller See more Blas B 3d Ending was to abrupt. See more Read all reviews
