3/5
The four-part docuseries, which was released in honor of the U.S. Marine Corps 250th Birthday, offers viewers a non-political look at what day-to-day life is like for Marines who are actively deployed but not in combat. Go to Full Review
Joel Keller Decider Nov 13
While Marines isn’t exactly a critical look at the branch of the US military that is generally the first to be deployed to a war zone, it’s certainly an interesting look at the operations of a unit most people didn’t even know existed. Go to Full Review
Sreeparna Sengupta The Times of India Nov 11
2.5/5
The series plays out more like a promotional handbook of the US Marine Corps and their training activities. And so four episodes of watching various combat drills can get quite laborious for anyone who isn’t actively interested in the topic. Go to Full Review
Jonathon Wilson Ready Steady Cut Nov 10
3.5/5
With its release timed to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Marine Corps’ founding in 1775, there’s doubtlessly a promotional element to Marines that constitutes something of a recruitment drive. Go to Full Review

Cyndi J Nov 15 I watched a ½ hour of this and came out gasping and thinking these young men are psychopaths. The one talking about knowing as a kid he wanted to k*ll and the producer asking him to clarify that statement and him smiling and repeating it made my blood run cold. The two buddies saying they were begging for a war so they could k*ll people made me sick. Lord. Have. Mercy. what are we doing? See more Jeff G. @JeffG813 Nov 14 Pretty great documentary! Cool to see how training works See more Thomas S Nov 13 Never served myself but a lot of respect for those that have and continue to do so. I enjoyed the series and appreciate the training they went through. Look I understand this is the closest approximation to real situations that could actually have a civilian film crew underfoot. Having worked in an industrial setting we were very motivated to insure our guys knew their jobs and were expert in operating heavy equipment. And it was simply to ensure the work was done and everyone went home in one piece. These guys are training to do their jobs on an instant call out that literally is a life and death situation. God Bless everyone of them! See more Read all reviews
