Eric Deggans NPR As a fan of superheroes who knows how racial issues affect media, I've realized I can't enjoy these new stories until they fully step away from old stereotypes. Nov 26, 2019 Full Review Karen Han Slashfilm There's a show inside Iron Fist that's worth a chance, but it's a tough sell when you have to get through a significant number of Russian nesting dolls to get to it. Jul 10, 2018 Full Review Brian Lowry CNN.com If the Marvel-Netflix team-up has sought to assemble the Beatles of brooding brawls, think of Iron Fist as a notch below Ringo. Jul 10, 2018 Full Review Fausto Ponce Alta Fidelidad Magazine Iron Fist arrives after the premiere of the other Defenders series so the points of comparison are very well defined and from there one can begin to say that it's a series that ends up unmoored. Nerd W Were the critics watching the same thing? If you want karate kid, this isn’t it, this is IRON FIST! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/21/25 Full Review Mike H The show was actually really good not too sure where all the hate is coming from, I feel as if he embodied Danny Rand really well and gave a great backstory on iron fist that we never seen before, the iron fist actor did a great job can’t wait to see him return. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/16/25 Full Review Vasqu3z V I don't really understand the Hate from Critics and Audiences.. It's not the best but it's not bad either! Better than most of the Disney MCU Shows tho Story was interesting enough to get me hooked but it had little plotholes. I liked the Characters. Some Dialogues are a bit cheesy but overall good. The Fighting Scenes are very good but sometimes there are too many cuts.. The Music is great. Would give 4 Stars but i'm giving 5 because it deserved better than these Scores.. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/13/25 Full Review Audience Member One of my favourite marvel shows growing up!! I’d love to see Finn jones back in the role!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/29/25 Full Review Michael Antony A Mikey's TV Review: Marvel's Iron Fist Hit Firstly, forget the ridiculous PC criticism about 'whitewashing' of the character - Danny Rand was white in the original comic. End of story. Get over it! And it's not as awful as the professional critics would have you believe, although it's seriously flawed and sluggish in it's delivery. The question of whether an origin story for Iron Fist is even necessary when Daredevil, Jessica Jones & Luke Cage have already followed that template and layed the ground work for The Defenders so well, is however raised. In fact, his origin is so lazily handled, it makes you wonder why they even bothered at all. To have him already in costume wearing / fighting mode, coming to the aid of the existing Defenders trio would have been quite acceptable. But here we are again, retreading overly familiar ground, with fleeting Kung Fu Fighting (choreographed like dances), and a story bogged down in corporate politics. That the villains (and there are more than a few) prove more engaging than the title character should be warning enough that this series is in trouble. Madame Gao (an always excellent Wai Ching Ho) is back, and so is The Hand, but more compelling is the twisted family trio of The Meacham's. Particularly new character Ward Meacham, played by Tom Pelphrey, who is undoubtedly the break out star of the show, and actually has the most compelling arc over the 13 episodes. While Finn Jones as Danny Rand simply lacks charisma, coming across like a whinny teenager (perhaps the point?), and even at the end actually undeserving of the Iron Fist mantle. Meanwhile, Collen Wing, played by Jessica Henwick appears more deserving of that name by displaying the chops (!) that Danny so lacks. All that said, it has enough fan boy moments to keep you watching, and the late addition of future villain Davos (Steel Serpent) gives one hope of an improved, hopefully slicker 2nd Season. So not exactly the one two punch we were hoping for then, more a light slap... Mikey's Rating: 3/5 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/28/25 Full Review August C My least favourite Season of the defenders saga so far but still not bad. Kind of gave me Green Arrow vibes Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/22/25 Full Review Read all reviews
