Burdened with their own personal challenges, Matt Murdock (Daredevil), Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Danny Rand (Iron Fist) realize that they likely won't be able to accomplish their goals working solo. That realization leads them to team up and form The Defenders, a supergroup that is more equipped to save the Big Apple than the heroes would be if they continued to work on their own. Toby Earle London Evening Standard This all-punching, all-high-kicking extravaganza is what those solo shows have been building towards, the intimacy of Luke Cage, the first series of Daredevil, and Jessica Jones shoulder-barged aside to knot this universe in an NYC brawl pretzel. Jul 16, 2018 Full Review Brady Dale Observer I just wish the show had gotten started faster. Sep 13, 2017 Full Review David Hinckley New York Daily News The long-awaited Defenders who fight their way onto Netflix next Friday are not your older brother's superheroes. Sep 1, 2017 Full Review Sarah Musnicky Legion of Leia at Vital Thrills We start to finally see things coming together, which should probably have happened more towards the beginning of the episode. Sep 20, 2019 Full Review Josh Wilding With any luck, the next time these heroes come together, they'll have a better villain to face and a stronger story. Despite those failings, The Defenders still delivers an enjoyable team up for these characters but it's clear it should have been better. Rated: 3/5 Aug 30, 2019 Full Review Kaitlyn Booth Bleeding Cool [It] starts off slow but takes the four genres from the solo series' and slowly blends them to make a unique team dynamic we haven't seen before in the Marvel Universe. Tyler S Much better than I thought! The chemistry between these four heroes is really fun and I think it was handled well. Kinda like Iron Fist season one, some of the writing felt a little off but the story was entertaining. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Superhero team-up isn't anything you haven't seen before, and doesn't always shine as much as it could, but the majority of the appeal lies in its compelling, layered characters and excellent action scenes. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/01/24 Full Review Raytoons C Better than the Avengers films! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/20/23 Full Review Jakey B The Defenders was a good interconnected season to bring these character's plots together, even if its way less interesting over some of the stand alone series. The team dynamic was disappointing but I liked how it kept focus on drama over action. The set up was necessary but it kicks off at the right time leading to a solid finale. It did its job fine but not as compelling as it could have been especially because of how incredible some of the other marvel shows are, yet it was still able to keep me invested in this saga and its characters. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/05/23 Full Review Jash Daredevil and Jessica Jones were great. Everything else is either okay or bad. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/19/23 Full Review Clark C I am a huge fan of Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage so I went in to Ironfist with high hopes, the first time I saw Finn Jones on screen all those hopes were dashed. I still don't know if he's a bad actor or was just fed bad lines. Same thing with The Defenders went in with highest of hopes that the 3 would balance the bad apple, he really dragged them down. Every other part seemed perfectly cast, I don't understand how they wiffed the ball so badly. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/01/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a review
