      Critics Consensus

This unlikely spinoff has a surprising amount of heart, but Bumper in the Berlin can only sustain its thin premise for so long before the whole conceit goes off-key.

Nina Metz Chicago Tribune The series can’t quite sustain the kind of pacing it needs. A madcap energy might have served the material better and it wouldn’t have sacrificed the show’s good-hearted vibe. Rated: 2/4 Nov 23, 2022 Full Review Kristen Baldwin Entertainment Weekly 'Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin' is a slight but unexpectedly amusing spin-off of the film franchise. The show won't win any trophies for originality, but it keeps a pleasant beat thanks to an appealing ensemble and a fat heart. Rated: B Nov 23, 2022 Full Review Angie Han Hollywood Reporter A tiresome extension of a tired franchise. Nov 22, 2022 Full Review Shannon O'Connor The Daily Beast Unfortunately, none of this adds up to recreating the same magic as the films have—not least of all because the show ditches the characters that made us love Pitch Perfect in the first place... Feb 28, 2023 Full Review Jackie K. Cooper jackiekcooper.com A little Adam Devine goes a long way but luckily he has a fascinating co-star in Sarah Hyland to smooth things out. Rated: 5/10 Jan 10, 2023 Full Review Lindsay Press Culturess A show to watch for fun and nostalgia but lacks the heart of the original trilogy. Jan 6, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Weston T Bad character in an even worse TV show. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/19/23 Full Review D Tho L Good songs. I personally think the Kramer siblings steal the soul, a must-see if you happen to be a Pitch Perfect fan. Light-hearted. Enjoyable. Could be done with fewer episodes, I found some parts unnecessary. Better than the third installment of Pitch Perfect anyway. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/15/23 Full Review Lakshman Sai Kumar T Bumper really wreaked havoc in Berlin. This ignited my hopes of Pitch Perfect 4 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/07/23 Full Review Mark H The "acapella songs" to "things in-between the acapella songs" ratio is way off here. Plot-wise, this show is the epitome of "communication would have solved 90% of these problems" in the most infuriating way. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/05/23 Full Review the rambling v Ignore the critics! Season 1 is great! If you like the movies you'll like this. It's a fantastic way to revive Pitch Perfect. Good cast, good singing, good songs. It's comical and absurd, just like the movies. This deserves a season 2. The official professional critics are idiots. I suppose they want a boring stale show. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review slyc3 It had a lot of funny and wholesome parts but Adam Devine was really the only funny one in the show.
