Former "Saturday Night Live" cast member Fred Armisen and rock 'n' roll guitarist Carrie Brownstein first cracked up audiences as the internet sketch-comedy duo ThunderAnt. Harry Waksberg New York Magazine/Vulture Portlandia has been specific, absurdist, and often very funny; this season is no exception. All in all, though, it's probably best that Portlandia is finally ending - the way it targets its figures of ridicule has somewhat outstayed its welcome. Dec 14, 2018 Full Review Lara Zarum Village Voice Portlandia captures the slightly sheepish, somewhat smug attitude of the aging hipster as only an aging hipster can. Full of absurdist commentary on "the way we live now." Mar 27, 2018 Full Review John Hugar AV Club Portlandia is finally packing it in this year, and while the show's cultural impact has waned since its early 2010s peak, anyone still watching knows that it can often be quite funny. Rated: B Jan 19, 2018 Full Review Matt Roush TV Insider Portlandia provides wonderful cultural snapshots from a place that is also proudly a state of mind. It will be missed. Dec 14, 2018 Full Review Alci Rengifo Entertainment Voice Season 8 kicks off in that spirit, celebrating its characters as they dream, rage and chase the wild horses in their lives. Aug 28, 2018 Full Review Laura Bogart The Week Watching Portlandia these days is like chewing a piece of slightly stale candy; you can still taste the sweet spots, but mostly, it's just bland.
