Kinery G @kineryg Dec 11 I found this film to be very empowering and eye opening. I love how Brooke took the hardships that she faced and painted them in a positive light not dwelling in the past. I also think that the film does an excellent job at showing how women can be picked apart purely off looks and how there brain can often be disregarded by others. Overall I really enjoyed this film and would watch again. See more Morgan T @MorganToland Dec 8 I was curious to watch "Pretty Baby" as I am very interested in the entertainment industry and have been a fan of a lot of Brooke's earlier works. Although it did reveal a lot of unknown information about the corrupt lives of child actors, I felt it was overall very repetitive. I believe the information presented could have been condensed into a smaller film. Even still I do not regret the watch, I believe her experiences should be talked about more! What we don't see behind the camera is the way these young girls are exploited and used for their bodies at such a young age. The director allows Shields to reclaim her own story, and go through events in her life that led to her postpartum depression, and lifelong trauma. The film captures how the adults in Brooke Shield's life really were just bystanders and did not speak up about her mistreatment. I wasn't really that interested in her but I was curious to watch this to see if there was something that would interest me (especially since it had such good notes) but there wasn't. Her willingness to talk about her post partum depression brought tears. I have no words for her upbringing in the movie industry and amazed she can speak so candidly about it.
