The sight of a light saber coming to life has become about as thrilling as turning on a table lamp. Go to Full Review

The performances overall are more dynamic, the writing more engaging than usual for Disney+, which keeps the series from dragging like its predecessors. Go to Full Review

While The Acolyte is mostly able to skirt by given how well its cast sells the emotional context of each scene, the degree of narrative withholding Headland is attempting here threatens to undermine a lot of this otherwise strong character work. Go to Full Review

I enjoyed The Acolyte, and once it finished, I couldn’t wait to do a complete rewatch to spot the connections, the references, the foreshadowing, and all the details I overlooked the first time around. Go to Full Review

We got incredible, multi-dimensional characters who made us feel all the emotions and whom we’re going to miss. I can’t remember the last time I fell so instantly in love with new characters. I’m so glad The Acolyte exists and that we got to see it. Go to Full Review

Brayden G @DeadShotVibe802 2d Horrible show I do not recommend See more Travis J Nov 26 One of the worst things Disney has put out in the last decade, and that's saying something. The plot is incomprehensibly stupid and has more holes than solid spots. The acting very cringe from most of the cast only afew performances worth noting. Lot's of poorly choreographed scenes. Have I Mentioned the blatant stupidly of the plot? Or how incredibly contrived so much of it is? The entire thing is a trash fire from start to finish and probably ended quite afew careers. Save yourself don't bother watching. If your hungry from more starwars content watch anything else, there's even a Christmas special you could watch is just as bad but shorter at least. See more Nov 24 "The Acolyte" stands as a glaring disappointment and a betrayal to the loyal Star Wars fandom, True fans! of the OG trilogy and George Lucas. Undermining decades of meticulously crafted lore with blatant disregard. Leslye Headland a former assistant to S#x Predator Harvey Weinstein! , who created, wrote, and executive produced the series, has shown not only a shocking lack of respect for the franchise’s core mythology but has also alienated fans through dismissive and often rude responses to legitimate criticism. Her decision to bring in her wife, known for publicly attacking fans and sowing division, only deepened the wounds in a community that once felt united by their love of Star Wars. Adding insult to injury is the atrocious performance by Amandla Stenberg, whose acting frequently comes across as wooden and unconvincing, sapping any emotional weight the show might have had. Rather than addressing valid fan concerns with professionalism, Stenberg has repeatedly lashed out in interviews and social media posts, blaming fans for their critical responses in cringe-worthy and defensive ways. This hostility toward the audience undermines any goodwill and further fractures the already divided fanbase. The show’s reckless rewriting of established canon isn’t just a creative misstep—it's an INSULT. Key elements of Sith history, the Force, and pivotal events are twisted or ignored, causing confusion and outright anger among fans. This isn’t evolution; it’s erasure of the foundation George Lucas painstakingly laid down. The infusion of heavy-handed "woke" agendas only compounds the damage, prioritizing social messaging over narrative coherence and alienating viewers who simply wanted an authentic Star Wars experience. Adding fuel to the fire is Headland’s controversial connections, including closeness to figures like Harvey Weinstein, raising questions about the culture surrounding the show’s production. Instead of fostering respect and understanding, the climate around the series has been toxic, with fans who voice critique unfairly branded as bigots or worse—silenced rather than engaged. This cultural warfare against long-time supporters reflects a disturbing trend of prioritizing ideology over artistry and fans’ genuine passion. At its core, "The Acolyte" feels like a power play by Leftist liberal dems!—people more interested in making political statements that tramples on the legacy of Star Wars, disrespects George Lucas’s vision, and treats its audience with condescension rather than gratitude. For true fans, it’s hard not to see this as a reckless and bitter chapter in the franchise’s history, one that deserves to be called out for the canonical disrespect and cultural divisiveness it represents. See more Kyle J. Nov 15 Everything about this show was peak Disney liberalism. The writing, acting, story etc. was completely terrible and very unoriginal. Besides literally ALL non main characters getting waxxed mid-series, it was completely predictable. See more Noah G. @LobsterCrab Nov 7 Was the Acolyte really that bad? See more Conor M Oct 29 Had potential but not a compelling enough storyline. Off screen representation was off putting and seemingly unenlighted or unprepared. Just can't compare it to any other star wars new Gen series and most certainly not any of the films. See more Read all reviews
