Neal Justin Minneapolis Star Tribune The sight of a light saber coming to life has become about as thrilling as turning on a table lamp. Jun 11, 2024 Full Review Proma Khosla indieWire The performances overall are more dynamic, the writing more engaging than usual for Disney+, which keeps the series from dragging like its predecessors. Rated: B Jun 7, 2024 Full Review Nic Anstett Autostraddle While The Acolyte is mostly able to skirt by given how well its cast sells the emotional context of each scene, the degree of narrative withholding Headland is attempting here threatens to undermine a lot of this otherwise strong character work. Jun 7, 2024 Full Review Caroline McDonald Deseret News (Salt Lake City) I thought the episodes were good, but not mind-blowing. Nov 6, 2024 Full Review Clotilde Chinnici Loud and Clear Reviews The Acolyte makes us question these fixed categories by introducing morally grey and incredibly compelling villains who the audience cannot help but root for by the end of the show. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 14, 2024 Full Review Steve Murray ArtsATL The show stumbles over its stilted dialogue and bogs of exposition. It’s somber nonsense that lacks the offhand poetry or wit that made so many fall in love with George Lucas’ space opera so many years ago. Aug 2, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Carl J There was so much of value here. So many things. It's the most Star Wars story I've watched in a long time. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/23/24 Full Review Ville L It's more suited to modern thinking - IE. Jedi are in fact a oppressing police force with powers... I liked the view of only witches being people I relate to... Sadly no force/magic/god is true... It's not so bland dualistic as other SW canon. I've seen the original in the eighties so I have perspective: OG Star Wars is great but "American shite with cherry on top";-) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/23/24 Full Review DP C There is nothing of value here. Not one thing. It's barely even connected to Star Wars. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/21/24 Full Review Brett M This show was mediocre at best. The story line was kind of interesting. The fight between the Jedi and the stranger was epic and watching Kelnacca (the Wookiee Jedi) was pretty awesome. However, it took a while to get going. There were several missed opportunities like the Kelnacca vs. strangers fight or the Jedi vs. the witches. I was really excited to meet new Jedi, but was disappointed that they didn’t explore the characters in much depth. The parent trap with the twins was a bit over played as well. I really had high hopes for the show and was disappointed. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/19/24 Full Review Cade P Everything seemed forced. Take the pun however you like, but the carefully planned steps and actions and words were so obvious that it was impossible to be taken in by the story or action. Whether it was how Mae approached Indara at the beginning--obvious how every little steps was choreographed, or how Osha seemed to wait in a dumb stupor and then purposefully back off the cliff. Those are just a couple examples of many scenes that are so bad. The dialog was overly simplistic, and way too often the Jedi start a conversation with a potential deeper meaning that is ruined by some trite response... so shallow. I really wanted to give it a chance, but I'm not wasting my time beyond the first episode. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/19/24 Full Review Kurt H It's really really fun. The story is so interesting. The characters are great (Witches again??? Wanted more after Agatha All Along). The best things though are the lightsaber fight scenes! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/15/24 Full Review Read all reviews
