Neal Justin Minneapolis Star Tribune The sight of a light saber coming to life has become about as thrilling as turning on a table lamp. Jun 11, 2024 Full Review Proma Khosla indieWire The performances overall are more dynamic, the writing more engaging than usual for Disney+, which keeps the series from dragging like its predecessors. Rated: B Jun 7, 2024 Full Review Nic Anstett Autostraddle While The Acolyte is mostly able to skirt by given how well its cast sells the emotional context of each scene, the degree of narrative withholding Headland is attempting here threatens to undermine a lot of this otherwise strong character work. Jun 7, 2024 Full Review Charles Pulliam-Moore The Verge By embracing its identity as a story free from the burdens of having to connect with anything but itself, The Acolyte’s first season became one of the more promising signs of Star Wars’ future. Jul 23, 2024 Full Review David Hogan hoganreviews.co.uk While not the massive breakout hit I was hoping for The Acolyte was still a really fun series to follow, with some well-choreographed fights and a couple of interesting characters well-acted by Lee Jung-jae and Manny Jacinto. Rated: 4/5 Jul 20, 2024 Full Review Fico Cangiano CineXpress Incredible lightsaber battles & Manny Jacinto's phenomenal turn aside, The Acolyte doesn't deliver on its potential & promise within the Star Wars universe. Lackluster writing & weak direction push the project to the dark side. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 2/5 Jul 19, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Aden C What was the purpose of this show? Did Anakin's origin story need to be a coven of witches making force babies? Did Star Wars really need a steamy nude beach scene where a character's eyes light up from the lightsaber a Sith Lord is packing? Did the Jedi need to be turned into homophobic child protective services? Amandla Stenberg's acting is awful. She makes one face the entire show. Sol had potential, and Manny's acting is great aside from the fact his character doesn't fit within Star Wars canon and the whole "the Sith haven't been seen in a millennium." But thankfully Ki Adi Mundi, the Jedi who said that, now exists before his own birth, so that's good. That Darth Plagueis. One of the most powerful Sith to ever exist. Learned his force powers from witches while gooning it up in a cave like a creep, is absolutely hilarious. Do yourself a favor and download the Darth Plagueis novel audiobook. It's set in the same time period as this and actually tells a story from the perspective of the Sith and shows the Jedi to be arrogant and foolish. All while being well-written and coherent. Why Disney decided not to just make a show based on the book I'll never understand. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/24/24 Full Review Gaming U Was much better than I thought it would be. Some cool sequences and awesome fight scenes Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/23/24 Full Review hiya u LOVED IT I PRAY THERES GONNA BE A NEW SEASON Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/25/24 Full Review Jacqueline A The show was so freaking amazing, loved the show after ep 3, the storyline is nice, with a lot of teases. The actors are so brilliant with their acting. Disney, give the eps more time like 50-60mins with ep 10 or 12! Season two, let’s go. People hate on it because they are queer and POC. Support Amandla & Manny, they are superior! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/25/24 Full Review Jordan L I’ve literally never been interested in or had the urge to watch any of the Star Wars movie/tv shows until now and I literally LOVED this show idc what anyone says!! I need a Season 2 NOW! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/25/24 Full Review Kevin P Sad it was review bombed because it's really an interesting show that can be brutal at times. I'm very interested in what next. If you like Jedi fights, it's for you. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/25/24 Full Review Read all reviews
