Mihailo M @RT08634381 05/23/2024 The animation is surprisingly good. Splinter is superbly edited, as is Shredder See more Wassim A @RT60107141 06/22/2023 a must see for me, it's the best TMNT show See more Michele I @RT57629328 06/01/2023 This is a strong season of 4Kids Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. At the end of season 3 the Turtles faced a really dangerous battle with the Shredder and they all almost died. It took another group to come in and save them at the last minute, because of this Leonardo is having mental issues that gets him to feel that they're not doing well enough and he needs to get better, but no matter how hard he pushes he feels he's not good enough. Causing a very dark and edgy version of Leonardo. He's snapping at everyone, even Casey has to ask him "Are you eating out of Raph's bowl?" the voice actor, had to do a different voice for Leo through most of this season, but it is still the same voice actor all the way through the 4Kids series into Turtles Forever. I got favorite scenes in this season, including Michelangelo pointing out to his brothers to lay off of Leo, because Leo takes all of the serious stuff off of them. I also have scenes I'm not so fond of, like when Leo returns to New York with a new power to find all of his family... which he NEVER uses again... that episode has never stuck with me, even though I like the writer... I didn't like Leo having the skill and hated even more that it was just a plot device for the one episode. Giving this seasons the ups and downs that every TV show has. One of my favorite things in season 4 though is a location. The Turtles need a new lair, in doing so this is the first time in TMNT history at the lair is connected to a REAL location. That's right an animated series used a real location for the Turtles lair. They show it a few times in the series as the camera goes over Turtle pond, then over belvedere castle to a road behind and below the castle down to the sewer lids on the road. I started going to this real location after it was in the sewers, I have walked all around belvedere castle in central park. I sit by Turtle pond, which is perfectly named as the Turtles all swim up to the dock to meet you. And I've taken photos of the road behind the castle showing all the sewer lids down there. It's amazing to have one spot in NYC to say that is where one of the lairs would've been. It's like going to a filming location, even though it's really not. And we get that, because this is the first series animated in New York City and the artist know the city. They were able to take real things and put them into the show. Which is truly amazing. There is another plot line in season 4, as Donatello gets mutated and they have to fix him. I like this because it forces the Turtles to work with one of their villains, Bishop in finding the cure. They did great with the teams not trusting each other, but getting around to what they needed to do. At the same time I didn't like it, because we got less of Donatello through the season as he wasn't able to really speak while transformed. So this was one of those plots where I was thrilled when they fixed it and am okay with, because it didn't take an entire season to do. Overall I feel this is the last amazing season of this series. Where they knew what they were doing and kept the feel of the pervious seasons. I do recommend it as I recommend the entire show for character growth and storylines. See more 03/01/2021 Why It Rocks Excellent animation with very great action and fight scenes. It is the darkest 4Kids program ever made. The darkest incarnation in the franchise. The made for TV animated movie released in 2009, titled Turtles Forever, was exciting because it featured a crossover between three different incarnations on the ninja turtles, the 2003 version, the 1987 version, and the version from the comics. Very appealing art style and character designs, especially that of Shredder. This series incarnation of the Shredder, besides being by far the most evil and threatening, has a unique backstory and is a sociopathic alien named Ch'rell instead of an successor to the original or an immortal. Out of all of the TV adaptations of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, this one is considered the most faithful to the original comics, and it's creator Peter Laird's favorite adaptation. The characters are more complex and interesting than in the original 1987 version. This time, instead of focusing more on comedy until towards the end, the series focuses much more on drama from early on. The biggest example is the turtles having to deal with their appearances, that being the reason that they have to reside in the sewers instead of conversing with common humans. Great soundtrack. While the characters are more complex in this version, that doesn't mean that the comedy is neglected. The comedy is just as great as in the previous version. If anything this version manages to balance the comedy with the drama much better. Good voice acting, with the main turtles all having great chemistry. Another thing that this series does more than the previous incarnation of the turtles is going in depth with the martial arts training, which is immensely important as it shows how the turtles become as strong as they do when it comes to combating evil. Outstanding pacing. Episodes like "Exodus", "Enter the Dragons" and "Same As It Never Was" were examples of excellent episodes. Impressive plot twists. Impressive character development. Nice Back-Story for Casey Jones. Memorable Villains like Hun, Bishop, Stockman, Karai, The Foot Clan and the Purple Dragons. Sometimes it tackles mature topics like PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), and Poverty. The show is like a legacy to Batman: The Animated Series. Even though Season 6 and 7 were mixed, the theme songs were catchy, especially Back To The Sewer. The series finale Turtles Forever was a great way to end the series. Its follow up show, the 2012 animated series, was too, well received. The series shows that reboots can be done right. See more 01/03/2021 Best. TMNT. Series. Ever. From start to finish, this show was serious enough that I could enjoy it as an adult & light enough that it didn't traumatize me as a kid. I thought maybe childhood nostalgia had exaggerated how good it was in my mind but after rewatching the whole series again, it truly is as fantastic as I remember. Easily the best adaptation of the comics with an unmatched plot and beautiful animation See more Read all reviews
