Nancy Franklin The New Yorker A sitcom doesn't have to break new ground to be good, but it does have to make you feel that it isn't just going through the motions. "Christine" satisfies on that score to some extent, but you just want more from it. Nov 11, 2019 Full Review Ken Tucker Entertainment Weekly Viewing season 1 is a crash course in how to build a successful comedy series. Rated: B+ Feb 14, 2019 Full Review Farah Farouque The Age (Australia) Desultory guffaws (yes, there is a laugh track) at best. Feb 14, 2019 Full Review S. Jhoanna Robledo Common Sense Media In the able hands of Louis-Dreyfus, Christine sometimes manages to be complex, but only for a moment, until she's drowned out by the ubiquitous laugh track. Rated: 3/5 Nov 11, 2019 Full Review Tom Jicha South Florida Sun-Sentinel The show's potential downfall, beyond its thin premise, is that the cast comes off as characters reciting lines in a sitcom, not as people who exist in the real world. Nov 11, 2019 Full Review Alan Pergament Buffalo News It has its heart in the right place, skillfully uses [Julia] Louis-Dreyfus' ability to be appealing awkward and smartly makes her character sympathetic. At times, the pilot is downright adorable. Rated: 3/4 Nov 11, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews
