      Season 8 – The Office

      2011 Comedy List
44% 25 Reviews Tomatometer 58% 500+ Ratings Audience Score This U.S. adaptation -- set at a paper company based in Scranton, Pa. -- has a similar documentary style to that of the Ricky Gervais-led British original. It features the Dunder-Mifflin staff, which includes characters based on roles in the British show -- and, quite possibly, people with whom you work in your office. There's Jim, the likable employee who's a bit of an every man. Jim has a thing for receptionist-turned-sales-rep Pam -- because office romances are always a good idea! There's also Dwight, the co-worker who is successful but devoid of social skills and common sense. Read More Read Less Watch on Peacock Stream Now

Max W While Season 8 of The Office feels chaotic and disorganized in the absence of Michael, the remaining cast members and the introduction of bright new characters are enough to keep fans in front of the screen and maintain their love for the show. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/03/24 Full Review Banı à It was so hard to get through after all those great episodes. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/29/23 Full Review Flobine Heureusement que Dwight est là! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/24/23 Full Review Antonio P Just re-binged all the 9 seasons of The Office, I found the 8th season way more intriguing and fun than I remember. James Spader's Robert California has been the perfect addition to give the season some sense of novelty, without trying to be a full replacement of Steve Carell's Michael Scott. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/21/23 Full Review Ravi D Everything is just a lamer form of how it once was except Dwight K. Schrute. It also didn't help to completely cancel the character the whole show and all the characters in it was based upon (Michael Scott). Not even watching for fun anymore, just wanna see how it ends. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/19/23 Full Review Jack O Without the magnificent Michael Scot this season is very weak, the jokes or scripts are lousy, the truth is that for me I ended in the middle of season 7, I do not recommend this eighth season. Willa Paskin Salon.com The characters may all still work in an engaging nut house, but the series is punching the clock, trying to solve the same old problems, create similar stories, develop familiar characters. Feb 25, 2020 Full Review Verne Gay Newsday The transition has been awkward -- to be expected when a classic character has been replaced -- but The Office seems to know where it's going and seems to be enjoying itself in the process. Spader? Absolutely a keeper. Rated: B+ Feb 25, 2020 Full Review Matt Zoller Seitz New York Magazine/Vulture Fact is, the show's first post-Steve Carrell year has been a mess, at times bordering on a disaster. Feb 25, 2020 Full Review Matthew Dougherty The Filtered Lens The Office has fallen and shows no signs of getting back up. Rated: 5/10 Feb 25, 2020 Full Review Price Peterson TV.com While everyone was busy being disappointed, The Office sneaked in some genuinely great jokes, new characters, and affecting plotlines. All things considered, this is still one of the best shows on TV. Feb 25, 2020 Full Review Seth Abramovitch TV.com I think we must finally acknowledge the elephant in the room: The addition of James Spader as Robert California is not helping this series survive the departure of Steve Carell.
