Depressed that his career seems to have stalled, Hollywood wunderkind Josh Flug lets his best friend, Marty Tanner, talk him into moving into El Capitan, a storied Tinseltown apartment building its eccentric residents have affectionately dubbed "The Captain." After meeting Uncle Saul, the former "Three's Company" writer who now fashions himself the resident expert on everything, and Charlene Van Ark, the aging but still sultry actress with a taste for fresh male "talent" in the Captain, Josh is about ready to jump ship until he meets Hope, an aspiring accupuncturist whose beauty and vulnerability has him immediately smitten.
