Bruce Eric Kaplan
Not only did Bruce Eric Kaplan manage the impressive feat of jumping from a career of writing and illustrating single panel comic strips to one scripting and producing television series, but it was in fact his familiarity with the world of cartooning that launched him to small screen esteem in the first place. A celebrated cartoonist for The New Yorker since 1991, Kaplan channeled his occupational experiences to write the memorable "Seinfeld" (NBC 1989-1998) episode "The Cartoon." From there on out, Kaplan became a powerful force behind the scenes of television series like "Six Feet Under" (HBO 2001-05) and "Girls" (HBO 2012-).
