Constance M Burge

Television writer and producer Constance M. Burge is known for creating shows with smart, sexy, and sometimes supernatural women. She did all three successfully on the hit fantasy series "Charmed" in the late 1990s. Burge began her career as a writer when she created the short-lived evening soap "Savannah" in 1996 for super-producer Aaron Spelling. But it was in 1998 that she launched "Charmed," again with Spelling, on the WB network. She wrote and produced during the first four years of the show, which proved to be a massive success for the network, but Burge famously left the series in its fourth season over a disagreement with showrunner Brad Kern. At this point, she had also started writing on the quirky legal comedy "Ally McBeal"'s final season, which led her to write for other hits such as "Judging Amy," "Ed," and "Boston Public." Burge also worked as a producer on those high-rated comedy-dramas. In the late 2000s, she had moderate success with the witness-relocation drama "In Plain Sight," the Debra Messing vehicle "The Starter Wife," and the sci-fi comedy "Eureka."
