Craig Schulz
Created, written and illustrated by Charles M Schulz in 1950, there was a certain melancholy humor in the comic strip "Peanuts" that struck a chord with readers; through syndication, cartoons, TV specials, reprints, books and merchandise Charlie Brown, Snoopy and their friends became global icons. Schulz's son Craig Schulz must have inherited some of his father's artistic talent working as part of the art department on feature film "Out-of-Sync" (1995) and various TV series including "Crossroads Café" (1996) and "On Common Ground" (1999). After Charles M Shultz died of cancer in 2000, public demand for more Peanuts content saw Craig acting as creative consultant on the "Peanuts Motion Comics" for iTunes in 2008, helping to make sure the cartoons adhered to his father's standards. Craig also continued to work on other projects including being part of the swing gang on 20 episodes of famtasy saga "True Blood" (HBO 2008-2014). His protectiveness of his father's legacy saw Craig once again return to the world of Peanuts writing and producing "Happiness is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown" (Fox 2011), the first new Peanuts special since his father's death. Schulz also popped up as a Judge on "Food Network Challenge" (2003-) appearing on a special Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Cakes" challenge. Passing the baton to yet another generation of Schulz, Craig teamed up with his son Bryan to develop an original script for a 3D-computer-animated "Peanuts" movie scheduled for 2015.
