Australian-born writer and producer Damian Kindler eimmigrated to another part of the English realm--Vancouver, Canada--while a youngster. It was there that his interest in science fiction and fantasy blossomed into a full-fledged and successful career in show business. He began, perhaps surprisingly for a sci-fi aficionado, writing four episodes of the revamped David Carradine series "Kung Fu: The Legend Continues" in 1995. He found piecemeal work in his genre of preference in the next few years on shows such as "Earth: Final Conflict," "BeastMaster," and "F/X: The Series." Kindler hit his stride writing and producing for the Canadian sci-fi series "PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal" with the Aykroyd brothers, Peter and Dan. He was co-executive producer and/or writer on over 50 episodes of the hit "Stargate SG-1" from 1998 until 2007. He also worked on that show's spin-off, "Stargate: Atlantis," in a writing capacity only. Kindler is the creator, writer, and executive producer of the Syfy Channel show "Sanctuary," collaborating again with "Stargate" star Amanda Tapping.
