Frank Mayo
Frank Mayo was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Mayo began his acting career with roles in such films as "The Red Circle" (1916), "Betsy Ross" (1917) and "Hitchin' Posts" (1920). He also appeared in "The Magnificent Brute" (1921), "Caught Bluffing" (1922) and "Souls For Sale" (1923). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the twenties and the thirties, appearing in "The Necessary Evil" (1925), "Doughboys" (1930) and "Alias the Bad Man" (1931). He also appeared in "Hell's Headquarters" (1932). Nearing the end of his career, he tackled roles in "Bullets For O'Hara" (1941), the drama "The Wagons Roll at Night" (1941) with Humphrey Bogart and "Gentleman Jim" (1942) with Errol Flynn. He also appeared in the Henry Fonda comedic adaptation "The Male Animal" (1942) and "Lady Gangster" (1942). Mayo last acted in the action picture "The Bribe" (1949) with Robert Taylor. Mayo passed away in July 1963 at the age of 74.
