George Givot
George Givot was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Givot began his acting career appearing in various films, such as "The Chief" (1933), "Hollywood Party" (1934) with Stan Laurel and the comedy "Wake Up and Live" (1937) with Walter Winchell. He also appeared in the Alice Faye dramatic comedy "Hollywood Cavalcade" (1939) and "Flying With Music" (1942). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the forties and the fifties, appearing in "Behind the Rising Sun" (1943), "Government Girl" (1943) and the Tom Conway mystery "The Falcon and the Co-eds" (1943). He also appeared in "The Leather Burners" (1943) and "April in Paris" (1952). Toward the end of his career, he continued to act in the Louis Hayward adventure "Captain Pirate" (1952), the Kirk Douglas dramatic adaptation "The Racers" (1955) and the Jane Wyman drama "Miracle in the Rain" (1956). He also appeared in the action flick "China Gate" (1957) with Gene Barry. Givot's music was most recently featured in "102 Dalmatians" (2000) with Glenn Close. He also lent his distinctive voice to the Peggy Lee animated adaptation "Lady and the Tramp" (1955). Givot passed away in June 1984 at the age of 81.
