George McManus
George McManus was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. In 1913, he wrote his debut comic strip for the silver screen, "He Only Wanted to Play with Dodo." In 1927, he wrote the short movie comic strip, "Stop Snookums." McManus began his career with a role in the comedy "Bringing Up Father" (1946) with Joe Yule. McManus next focused his career on film, appearing in the Joe Yule comedy "Jiggs and Maggie in Court" (1948). Later in his career, McManus acted in the Joe Yule comedy "Jiggs and Maggie Out West" (1950). McManus passed away in October 1954 at the age of 70.
