John Dilson
John Dilson was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Dilson began his acting career appearing in various films, such as "Cheers of the Crowd" (1935), "The Girl Who Came Back" (1935) and "The Dragnet" (1936). He also appeared in the Mala adventure "Robinson Crusoe of Clipper Island" (1936), the Stuart Erwin musical comedy "Pigskin Parade" (1936) and "Dick Tracy" (1937). He continued to act in productions like "Drums of Fu Manchu" (1940), the sci-fi flick "The Man With Nine Lives" (1940) with Boris Karloff and the western "King of the Royal Mounted" (1940) with Allan Lane. He also appeared in "Girls Under 21" (1940). Toward the end of his career, he tackled roles in "Dick Tracy Vs. Crime, Inc." (1941), the Lon Chaney Jr. drama "Man-Made Monster" (1941) and the Nancy Kelly spy picture "Fly By Night" (1942). He also appeared in "Pittsburgh" (1942) and "You Can't Escape Forever" (1942). Dilson more recently acted in "Buffalo Bill" (1944) with Joel McCrea. Dilson passed away in June 1944 at the age of 53.
