John Wheeler rose to fame as an actor, gracing the silver screen many times over the course of his Hollywood career. Wheeler began his acting career with roles in such films as "Sweet Charity" (1969) with Shirley MacLaine, the dramatic adaptation "Tell Them Willie Boy Is Here" (1969) with Robert Redford and "Move" (1970) with Elliott Gould. He also appeared in "Support Your Local Gunfighter" (1971) and the crime feature "Big Bad Mama" (1974) with Angie Dickinson. In the eighties, Wheeler devoted his time to various credits, such as "Frog Dreaming" (1986), "Hoosiers" (1986) starring Gene Hackman and "Sky Pirates" (1986) starring John Hargreaves. He also worked on "Banzai Runner" with Dean Stockwell (1987). Wheeler continued to exercise his talent in the nineties, taking on a mix of projects like "Hercules and the Amazon Women" "Hercules and the Lost Kingdom" and "Holy Matrimony" (1994). His credits also expanded to the Tom Hanks and Bill Paxton smash hit "Apollo 13" (1995) and "The Craic" with Jimeon McKeown (1999). Most recently, Wheeler worked on "Dance Academy" (TeenNick, 2011-14).
