Highly regarded for her beauty as well as her acting ability, Katja Flint has proven to be a major force in German film and television for over three decades. A native of Stadthagen, Flint spent much of her childhood in Ogden, Utah before returning to Germany and studying with the Munich Residenz Theater. Beginning with bit parts in the German television movie "Zinsen des Ruhms" and the American series "Scarecrow and Mrs. King," the actress quickly moved on to larger roles in feature films like 1985's "Nur Frauen, kein Leben," "Kolp," and "Forget Mozart." Throughout the 1990s, Flint could be seen on numerous German television productions, as well as the occasional feature such as Dominik Graf's 1994 crime drama "The Invincibles." However, the role that would bring Flint worldwide attention did not arrive until 2000, when the actress was cast as Hollywood legend Marlene Dietrich in Joseph Vilsmaier's biopic "Marlene." Both her dramatic skills and her natural resemblance to the glamorous icon helped Flint score a Hollywood Discovery Award for her performance. The next decade saw Flint become a fixture on German television, earning a coveted Grimme Prize nomination for her work in the 2007 television film "Mütter Väter Kinder" and making guest appearances on the popular detective series "Tatort." In 2011, she was nominated for a Bambi award for her performance in "The Prodigal Son."
