Kim Friedman

Director and producer Kim Friedman started her career in 1977 directing the Linda Lavin sitcom "Alice." Afterwards she helmed four episodes of the popular ABC drama series "Family" and the short-lived comedy "13 Queens Boulevard." The young director hit her stride in the early '80s with consecutive jobs on "Knots Landing" and directing a teenage Sarah Jessica Parker on "Square Pegs" from 1982 to 1983. Throughout the decade Freidman was associated with a string of successful shows. She added multiple episodes of "Dynasty," "The Love Boat," and "Hooperman" to her resume and in 1988 received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Directing for the "L.A. Law" episode "Hand Roll Express." In the '90s she spent some time working almost exclusively on TV sci-fi dramas like "Star Trek: Voyager," "Babylon 5," and "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine." She worked up until 2001, finishing out her run with installments of "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "Lizzie McGuire."
