Maxime Dumontier

Growing up in the spotlight, Maxime Dumontier successfully made the transition from a child performer to a serious actor in the controversial drama "Everything is Fine" (2008). He was born on Sept. 26, 1988 in Québec, Canada. Dumontier made his acting debut on the television series "Fred-dy" (Société Radio-Canada, 2001) before landing a featured role in the family drama "The Mysterious Miss C." (2002), as an introverted student who is obsessed with insects. Dumontier stayed busy with film roles in "L'Espérance" (2004) and "Mémoires affectives" (2004), as well as a recurring part on the drama series "Nos étés" (Groupe TVA, 2005-08). In 2007, he appeared in "Le ring," about a young boy from a poor Montreal neighborhood who dreams of becoming a professional wrestler. Dumontier's breakthrough role was in the 2008 feature film drama "Everything Is Fine," as an ordinary teenager who becomes disillusioned and then detached from the world after the suicide deaths of his friends. After proving himself a serious actor, he went on to appear in films with more mature themes such as "Tromper le silence" (2010), as an engineer who inspires a lonely photographer, and "La peur de l'eau" ("The Fear of Water") (2011).
