Peter Youngblood Hills
The ruggedly handsome product of American and English stock, Peter Youngblood Hills's childhood was a transient one. He spent time in Botswana, Indiana, Tennessee, Scotland, and finally London, where he finished his education at the private school Mill Hill in 1998. Hills then took a year off to follow his passion for acting, and found work in television commercials. Movie roles soon followed, starting with a small part as a verbose hippy who tries to engage Kate Winslet in "Hideous Kinky" and a supporting role as an ill-fated American tourist in Danny Boyle's utopia-gone-bad drama "The Beach," where he first worked with Leonardo DiCaprio. In 2002, Hills landed his biggest role to date, as dead-eye, heroic Staff Sgt. Darrell "Shifty" Powers in the popular World War II miniseries "Band of Brothers." As the 2000s continued, Hills's onscreen presence diminished, but he did serve as a cinematographer for DiCaprio's pet project, the 2007 documentary/environmental wake-up call, "The 11th Hour."
