Director Tony Singletary has lent his talents to countless television shows over the years, including some of the most popular ones of the 1980s. Singletary's career got started in the early 1980s, with single-episode assignments on such popular shows as the "All in the Family" spinoff "Archie Bunker's Place" and the Robert Guillaume-led political workplace comedy "Benson." As Singletary's career expanded, he went on to work on many popular shows of the early 1980s, but it turned out that his longest job happened to be at the helm of the biggest sitcom hit of the era, "The Cosby Show," for which he directed over 40 episodes between 1986 and 1990. That success led to another extended stint, working for three seasons on the domestic comedy "Who's the Boss?" Singletary continued to add to his already impressive resume throughout the 1990s and early 21st century, often working on sitcoms directed at an African-American audience, including the Martin Lawrence vehicle "Martin" and Mo'Nique's early success "The Parkers."
