Tim R There was better action in A Trip to Bountiful. If you're a lover of good bad movies then there is nothing to see here. Even the dialogue that's supposed to be intentionally cheesy misses the mark. You'll have more fun at a dentist appointment. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/29/24 Full Review Allan C Really a zero-star film, but I got 2 1/2 stars worth of entertainment from this cheesy 80s fantasy flick featuring PHANTASM's Angus Grimm (The Tall Man) as a martial arts cult leader whose group is infiltrated by three ladies looking to take him down. THE LOST EMPIRE is the directorial debut of Jim Wynorski, who made a few entertaining low-budget genre movies like CHOPPING MALL and BIG BAD MAMA II, but most of his output is cheesy movies with lots of ladies. THE LOST EMPIRE definitely foreshadows his later career of low-quality sexploitation films. It is basically the Roger Carmen version of a Charlie's Angels movie set at a gladiator school. Wynorski also wrote the screenplay, which has some Ed Wood-quality of dialogue, and just like Edward D. Wood Jr. Movies, this film was so bad, I found myself wildly entertained by it. Don't buy or rent this one, but see if you can catch it on TV or streaming somewhere if you're in the mood for something hilariously bad, you'll have a pretty good time. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/11/24 Full Review Audience Member the movie starts out very corny in the worst kind of way,but after they get to the island it gets better, its exactly what you think of a lost empire on a remote island, all in all I got to the end of it, so not that bad Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member the movie starts out very corny in the worst kind of way,but after they get to the island it gets better, its exactly what you think of a lost empire on a remote island, all in all I got to the end of it, so not that bad Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Gillar du tama slagsmål, skumma sekter, helt värdelösa effekter, stora bröst,skämt som inte är speciellt roliga? Då är det här en film för dig. Det positiva med den är att det är extrem lättsmält,glatt, osadistiskt och harmlöst.Rekommenderas till alla som är aningen dumma i huvudet. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Opening shot of perfect cleavage had me hooked. Big boobed women wearing skimpy outfits performing all of their stunts terribly. Too slow at times but the skin tight clothes and nonsensical story kept me entertained. Pure cheese sfx. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
