      Critics Consensus

Gleeful in its misogyny and celebratory of bad behavior, Porky's is an intermittently funny farce that will leave audiences feeling in need of a shower.

Nol P Time to review the movie series of Porky's. The original Porky's, (1981), was a very fun film and is full of pranks and crazy hijinks. Runs well start to finish and to many it is a hidden gem, (when they finally watched). 8 of 10. A Canadian production too. Porky's 2 is just weak. Not sure why it was so bad as there were good ideas but it just did not deliver at all compared to the original. 3.5 of 10. With the 3rd installment of Porky's, (Porky's Revenge, 1985), I am glad they did not let the 2nd chapter discourage from making a 3rd movie as this one is almost as good as the original. And no matter what the so called tight critics said giving this an overall of about 35% only. The pranks were hilarious and the story flowed start to finish. 7 of 10. You can just bi-pass the 2nd movie and watch parts 1 and 3 and laugh away! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/24 Full Review Brianna B I just don't find this movie funny Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/24 Full Review Y K Funniest movie ever. I swear, do not listen to this new generation comments. Thats probably one of the funniest movies ever. This movie is American Pie for 80s generation. Everything is politically correct now, I miss them old movies when we could have a laugh without worrying about everything… enjoy life will'ya. RIP George Carlin , you said we getting sensetive over anything. Best comedy , watch it , trust me, ignore those jounalism major reviewers or generation Z comments. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/29/23 Full Review Blu B Wow...some of this humor really hasn't aged well at all and is downright offensive. Pretty everything about it is subpar and pretty tasteless at times. All the characters just blend in, the humor falls flat or is in bad taste, stuff just happens to the group once they go to Porky's and it feels like that's almost forgotten about for most of the middle. There is no music to speak of either really in this. It's not long but it feels like it drags at times because of how stupid the story is. Pee Wee is an idiot and not that likeable either. This really is just American Pie for 1981 or vice versa depending how old you are. On top of that this is item A for women being treated as sex objects rather than characters which dare I say American Pie did better at least. Unless your nostalgic for this I can't recommend this to anyone. Skip It. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/01/23 Full Review Trenaway E This is a cult classic, which is beyond funny! Do not listen to the snowflake reviewers on this movie, it is funny, stupid and crazy! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/20/23 Full Review Vampire C It's a movie that showcases the drab humour of the past, where women were sex objects, and the N word was liberally thrown around. Grew up on this movie, so for me it's nostalgia, but I'm also well aware that there is a lot of better films out there. A good view for those who wants a bad "blast" from the past. Scott Cain Atlanta Journal-Constitution A sequel to this ghastly comedy is already in production. What a shame. Rated: 2/5 Nov 9, 2021 Full Review Eleanor Ringel Cater Atlanta Journal-Constitution The jokes are so unremittingly cheap, so purely predictable, that "Porky's" is less shocking or amusing than boring. Jun 15, 2021 Full Review Bill Cosford Miami Herald Clark seems to have done his research at the junior-high level; if you're much older than that yourself, Porky's is going to seem pretty dumb. Rated: 2/4 Apr 12, 2023 Full Review John Stark San Francisco Examiner [A] vulgar, sexist, racist, sadistic, juvenile, scatological, gross movie. Rated: 1/4 Jun 15, 2021 Full Review Malcolm Johnson Hartford Courant Clark has written an especially simple-minded script that comes across as a debased amalgam of "American Graffiti" and "Animal House," and directed it in a way that only emphasizes its poverty of imagination and humor.
