Audience Member This was a pretty decent, low key, slow paced romantic drama starring James Spader and Anne Brochet. Spader does a pretty good job as the shipwrecked, drifter who is found ashore by this lonely woman (Anne Brochet)who lives by herself somewhere on the Irish coast. She then takes care of him and dresses his wounds, and nurses him back to health. He soon discovers that she is totally isolated on the island with only monthly visits by the supply delivery man,she also is borderline insane because she has conversations with her dead mother and Spader overhears her talking to someone every now and then. That subplot never really pans out or does anything interesting. The movie kinda just meanders a bit where Spader and Brochet have this awkward romance that you kinda just don't really care about that much, then he wants to leave the island at one point and she wants to force him to stay because she has no one else to keep her company, except talking to her ghost mom. I gave this 3 stars because of the beautiful Irish coast and country side where the film takes place, james Spaders acting is solid as always. Pretty much only fans of James Spader will get anything out of this for the most part. Not totally terrible but nothing super great either as far as romantic dramas go. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Think Misery but with a little less hobbling. James Spader washes ashore Anne Brochet’s Irish beachfront property. He’s got amnesia. She tells him he’s on a deserted island. He believes her. She seduces him. He doesn’t seem to mind. Until she tells him she’s pregnant. He decides to flee. Things go a little nutty. Not a terribly engaging movie, but Spader has his moments. The problem with crazy lady characters is that they are, even when they’re mean to be, incredibly annoying. And the film just doesn’t have that payoff you’re itching for Spader to have. VF. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member I liked it. Besides, who wouldn't want James Spader to wash up on your shore? Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member interpretazione eccezionale di entrambi gli attori, spader sempre fantastico. trama discutibile ma trattata bene Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews
