Russell O The concept of this movie is good, and the plot has a good foundation, but I found myself too distracted by the bad acting to be caught up in the ultimate narrative. It would have been a great movie if they had focused more on the drama and survival, and less on the individual egos of the characters. And because of this, it just didn't capture me, and I just couldn't finish it. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I see that it isnt popular but it is very real and disturbing. One of the better truths on what would really happen if the used nukes. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member was not the best apocalyptic movie I have ever seen and the ending was not all that original. I would definitely have to say that Edward Furlong again saved the day by being in this movie. Why does he make everything he is in so much better? Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review geoff a Dull dull dull... I couldn't even watch it to the end. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member There was absolutely nothing that I could care about, or even like, in this film. One of the most boring movies I have seen in a while. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member There is just no point whatsoever to this movie. The characters are bland and there is practically no character development. Also, since it is made clear quite early that all character are suffering from severe radiation poisoning and are not going to survive very long no matter what happens, one can hardly care whether anyone survives any given incident; and on the other hand, there is no discussion about the fact that they are all dying and what they should do in the situation - it is mentioned for a moment, and then forgotten. All in all, you end up watching a bunch of poorly developed and barely believable characters sit around doing nothing interesting for an hour and a half. Peter Keough Boston Globe The shocks, and the repressed wickedness, as in all well-done horror films, build slowly, then reach a crescendo that is hard to bear and harder to shake off. Oct 9, 2014 Full Review Justin Chang Variety An often tedious but clammily atmospheric end-of-the-world thriller set in the wake of a nuclear holocaust. Jul 21, 2014 Full Review Tom Long Detroit News This is the story, understand, of a group of people taking shelter in a basement following a nuclear holocaust. It's pretty clear right from the start that all or most of them will die. Good times. Rated: C+ Jul 18, 2014 Full Review Dustin Putman TheFilmFile.com No one will be anointing "Aftermath" a feel-good triumph anytime soon, but there are flashes of unanticipated sensitivity and disquieting inspiration that cannot be denied. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 27, 2014 Full Review Mark R. Leeper Mark Leeper's Reviews It is clear there is only one realistic place that this film can be going. Rated: 6/10 Jul 20, 2014 Full Review Mike McGranaghan Aisle Seat There's a compelling idea at work here, as well as an admirable willingness to explore the darkest reaches of that idea. Those things are, however, continually undone by a misguided script and weak direction. Rated: 1.5/4 Jul 18, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews
