Synopsis
In 1945, German planes conduct bombing raids over London, leveling the city and frightening its citizens. The London Philharmonic Orchestra loses the support of the British government, and its members are faced with the possibility of disbanding altogether. Mr. Clifton (Joss Ambler) convinces the disheartened musicians (Hay Petrie, Mavis Clarke) to keep playing, which they do with guest conductors from all over the world. The orchestra's countryside tour brings hope to a devastated nation.
