Blu B Not much to say. It's okay. Milland isn't miscast but he's not exactly he best thing either. The Irish Sgt is though. Cinematography and music is decent. The action scenes aren't bad but they are pertty simliar to every John Ford western you've ever seen. Same with the soundtrack and it can be a bit dry at times. OVerall everything else is alright. The romance/love triangle doesn't really add up to much. It bounces around between the romance and calvary drama and it feels like 2 seperate storylines throughout. I think the other issue is really none of the the other characters have much depth or are that memorable. And really neither is Millands. His character background feels like it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of the Little Bighorn battle. It all just feels like it all makes sense but it's not very interesting and doesn't really tie together. Like it would all happen even if you cut the romance out or vice versa. Direction isn't bad though but lack of any interesting characters, muted performances, and lack of ability to tie the romance and clavary drama together is what makes this very forgettable. Most people could skip this unless your a hardcore Milland fan. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Cavalry western with Milland as a dishonourably discharged officer who re-enlists only to serve under the very man who wronged him. The Battle of Little Big Horn is referenced as a plot-line purely in the film's denouement, but other than that there is very little action to be had - apart from the snarling between the two antagonists in their shared scenes.
