What it boils down to, their first foray in a movie consists of music videos and a behind the scenes look with the latter as well. Even for a fan who enjoys Daft Punk (including me), it is pretty much all you'll get.

Let's get one thing out of the way right now: I love Daft Punk. Their music is catchy and influential. Even if you don't like it, you have to admit the influence it has had on dance music as a whole.
They've done some films such as Interstella 5555 and Electroma, and those are both good, but my favorite is D.A.F.T. A Story About Dogs, Androids, Firemen, and Tomatoes. Best. Title. Ever.
This isn't as much a film as it is a music video compilation, but the thing is that either the video has a plot, or is gorgeous to look at. My personal favorite is Around the World, but I still love Da Funk.
It uses the videos from Daft's first album (and possibly my favorite of their's) Homework.
Around the World is a plot-less video, but huge on the visual side. It's directed by visionary Michele Gondry, who presents one of his finest works here. There are dancing mummies, robots, and all sorts of other pieces of eye candy. One that you must check out.
Revolution 909 follows the life of a tomato from it's growth, to the store, to being boiled, to being put onto spaghetti, to being spilled on a police officer's shirt, who goes and stops a rave party. Got that? Actually, the video is a satire on the French Government's dislike of rave parties. Wow. This one's directed by Roman Coppola, son of Francis Ford Coppola director of The Godfather, and The Outsiders, another film I reviewed.
Da Funk is directed by my favorite director of all time: Spike Jonze who is awesome. It's basically a day in the life of a crippled dog, wandering the city streets. Not much more needs to be said.
Burnin' is about Firemen. Hence the title. The video is actually a tribute to Chicago house producers who served as their influence. So lets see how the title holds up.
Dogs: Obviously a reference to Da Funk which included a talking dog.
Androids: The Around the World video contained dancing androids.
Firemen: The Burnin' video brought the Fire, as well as the firemen.
Tomatoes: Revolution 909 had a Coppola get deep with tomatoes.
I would recommend D.A.F.T. to not only Daft Punk fans, but also people who want something new and creative. Check it out!

The first thing is that D.A.F.T is not a film, rather a collection of the group's memorable music videos from their first album, Homework. That being said, all the videos are creative and well done, especially for Da Funk, Burnin, and Revolution 909, all of which focus on story elements in the videos. I was disappointed by Around The World's inclusion, which probably should have been replaced by Fresh. Nonetheless, if you know what you're in for, you'll probably enjoy the fantastic videos presented by Daft Punk, but otherwise, you'll be lost in the house music videos.
