Audience Member Oof! I get that is going for a Grindhouse style, but everyone in it is soo nasty and unlikeable, that it's hard to even watch. I will give it to the girls though, they did an impressive amount with no budget here. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Bizarre, bold and brilliant home-made masterpiece that displays the filmmakers' twisted sense of humor. A textbook exercise in how to make a witty and inventive film with no money. Amid the crazy proceedings are riveting witty performances, especially between Jen Soska and C.J. Wallis. Loads of fun and highly recommended. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member While it's definitely not good, Dead Hooker In A Trunk is still somewhat endearing. It feels like a good student film, and with a budget of only two and a half grand, that's more than understandable. I'm amazed that the movie was even as good as it was. But that's not saying a whole lot. And though I already knew going in that the Soska sisters stepped there game up moving forward, judging Dead Hooker solely on its own merits, it's a poorly-acted, grainy, hard to sit through, nonsense bit-piece that is watchable purely for the couple of chuckles it features. I don't regret having watched it, for sure, but I can't imagine I'll be returning to the movie for a second go around either. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member DIY punk rock horror starring, produced, directed and written by the Soska sisters. Energetic, depraved and ridiculous - as you'd expect from the rather delightful Twisted Twins. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Thank god for American Mary! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member An indie film with clear low budget and small crew, but with enough soul and interesting characters to keep it going through its rough characteristics. The film has clear comedic and horror roots inspired by people like Robert Rodriguez (Thanked in the credits) and while it most often than not feels disjointed and bizzarre mostly thanks to its usage of music and sound effects and sound balance, theres enough character and strange but eye-catching moments to keep a low budget horror fan entretained. Not my type of film, but can see why some indie fans may like it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

John Gholson Cinematical A grimy slice of low-budget depravity that's as entertaining as it is completely ridiculous. Feb 10, 2012 Full Review Anton Bitel Projected Figures the rough edges are all part of the punk appeal in this ultra-low-budget Canadian indie... and if you are looking for pleasures of a better class or quality, what exactly are you doing with a Dead Hooker in a Trunk anyway? May 23, 2011 Full Review Rob Gonsalves Rob's Movie Vault I think the Soska Sisters will ultimately prove to be better than this material. Not that the material isn't fun. But I note an artistic sensibility that will, with the proper financial nurturing, expand beyond the grindhouse. Rated: B+ Apr 4, 2011 Full Review Simon Foster sbs.com.au It earns points as an exploitationer that would've played well to stoned drive-in patrons in the early '70s, but amounts to little more than lots of energetic shrieking and heavy make-up. Mar 25, 2011 Full Review Beth Accomando KPBS.org The film is an uneven, ultra-low budget project fueled by wild energy and do-it-yourself inventiveness. Nov 4, 2010 Full Review Read all reviews
