Disillusioned knight Bowen (Dennis Quaid) befriends Draco (Sean Connery), the last of the dragons, and the two begin scamming village folk as Bowen repeatedly "kills" Draco for money. Bowen soon learns that Draco is the same dragon who once saved his former student, now King Einon (David Thewlis), from death by giving him a piece of his heart. Einon is now a merciless tyrant, and Bowen is compelled to stop him -- but the bond between king and dragon means if one dies, the other does as well.

Critics Consensus

Dragonheart gives us medieval action, a splendidly mulleted Dennis Quaid, and Sean Connery as a talking dragon -- and, unfortunately, a story that largely fails to engage.

Rob Cohen's Dragonheart is one of the most sublimely silly movies I have ever seen. Since it combines its silliness with special effects that are, quite simply, sublime, I must resist the urge to take easy shots at it. Go to Full Review

Jan K Nov 12 A 90-ies classic fantasy story, that is probably most engaging for younger viewers. Visuals have dated, but don't take away from the pleasure of watching. Connery is a clear star in the show, lending his pleasant and recognizable voice to the dragon in the story. Quaid is a solid lead actor, but they both can prevent the story from being a cliché-ridden, shallow plot. In all, its not bad and entertaining - but expect a 90-ies standard. See more Steven A Nov 7 This movie is one of the best fantasy movies I've seen. A little silly at times but in a good way, the graphics hold up pretty well considering the movie's age and the characters are fun to watch. The movie even tries to take itself seriously in fantasy elements that I feel works. I enjoy the Knight's vow and the plot works for me. It's not perfect by any means but it doesn't stop the movie from being very watchable. Compared to other fantasy films that's high praise. See more Giovana L Aug 18 O filme é muito bom. Sem mais,é ótimo pra ver em família 💙 See more Stephen C @bob25009 Jul 26 Success in 1 hour and 43 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
