When twin brothers (Cameron and Nicholas Crovetti) arrive at their mother's (Naomi Watts) country home to discover her face covered in bandages--the result, she explains, of recent cosmetic surgery--they immediately sense that something doesn't add up. She sets strange new house rules, smokes in her bathroom, and secretly rips up a drawing they gave her--things their loving mother would never do. As her behavior grows increasingly bizarre and erratic, a horrifying thought takes root in the boys' minds: The sinking suspicion that the woman beneath the gauze, who's making their food and sleeping in the next room, isn't their mother at all.

While Watts does get plenty of time to showcase her range as both a villain and a tragic heroine, this adaptation of Goodnight Mommy fails to capture the patient brutality that pinned audiences to their seats nearly 10 years ago.

Deeply deeply unsatisfying and predictable, left me with a deep sense of annoyance. The only "horrifying" thing about this movie is the fact that I lost 92 of my life to this, what a joke.

Acho que o filme tentou trazer a vibe do filme "Os Outros". A idéia é boa mas sinto que foi mal construida, não dá margem para uma interpretação prévia antes do plot twist final. A desconstrução narrativa demonstra que parecem eventos próximos, mas não. Nem a morte deles fez sentido apenas no final e não faz jus a o filme original que ao menos mostra a evolução do personagem Elias (o menino traumatizado dá indícios do inicio ao fim de uma pscopatia causada por trauma), nesse Remake? não, só entendemos no final, não há nenhuma evolução do personagem. Achei bem fraco.

None of this plot made any sense. Even looking back on any of the beginning this was straight poop. Even to hint that she was the villain isn’t even fair. Waste of an hour and a half. Blah
