Audience Member Professor Padilla is hoping to stun the medical world with his new theory, but needs fresh corpses to experiment on. One night, two beggars (Laurel & Hardy) knock on his door asking for buttered toast. They soon find themselves with the possibility of earning five hundred dollars. The catch is that they must be grave robbers. The two numbskulls partake in this chance for free dough even if they are a bit skeptical as to why a loony scientist would need dead bodies. Although I think I would've asked for more money if I were them. Five hundred is a little low for grave robbing. I hear the rates skyrocketed when the economy tanked. As these two go off to carry on a wonderful tradition of unearthing corpses, the butler to the Professor so happens to have been an undercover cop. Turns out the police have been staking out the Professor. Once arrested, the butler turned undercover cop must have to endure a bit of annoying set of circumstances as he tries his utmost best to scare off the can't take a hint dummies. Laurel & Hardy provide their usual unique sense of slapstick. It isn't there best, but certainly it is there most fun. The challenge of getting Laurel to go over a wall into the cemetery was fucking hysterical! Even more so when he gets spooked enough to suddenly have the will power to launch himself back over the wall. Of course I like Hardy's way better by simply smashing into the wall. Hardy's weight was obviously the culprit in providing a successful way into the cemetery. You can always count on your overweight friend to get you through any wall that blocks your path in life.
