Anton Bitel Projected Figures If Sam spends the second half hidden in a closet, witnessing horrors while trying to undo the hinges with a penknife, the film itself pivots on two different subgenres, while getting trapped in an overlong, repetitive middle section of hide & seek. kevin c Australian horror film starts with a bang as a teen girl is abducted by a couple with bad intentions, the teen escapes their car and runs off into the woods where she eventually finds a house, which may not help her cause. I liked the tense moments in this as they were done very well. Starts out as a survival horror and takes a bit of a turn in the final act. One that I wasn't a fan of, but everything leading up to it was very good. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Very slow. I fell asleep! Good concept but bad execution. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review steve d It was not fun and incredibly cheaply made. I expected more even from a direct to video horror film. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I had a feeling this movie was going to be bad from the start because of how hot the main character was. I was right. This movie totally sucked. It seems like every horror movie that sucks tries to make up for it with sex appeal. Doesn't work for me. Cant believe people are giving this anything above 2 stars. Certain events dont link properly such as the highly inconsistent wound that bleeds a crap ton one minuet and seems to be clotted the next. To the next and the girl is beyond stupid. The guy is as well but the girl is just out of this world stupid even for a horror movie. The acting wasn't bad and you cant rally blame the actors just the script and director must suck. Also the ending made no sense whatsoever. Dont watch this atrocity. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member 3.75* I was really impressed w this considering I had never heard about it before watching and only picked it out on Shudder bc I had nothing else to watch and the premise sounded good. For a low budget it's really good. The cinematography is amazing. Great use of the settings, especially the wilderness and the closet. But I think that's mainly due to Sarah Jeavons. She was fabulous as the lead. Really evoked a sense of empathy. The suspense and tension she and Andreas Sobik (the antagonist) were able to drum up was nice. I also really liked the pacing... this is the opposite of a slow burn. Not totally sure how I feel about the ending. There were things I strongly liked, but also things I strongly disliked. Overall it's somewhere between a 3.5* and 3.75*. Bc the budget was so tiny I'll give it a 3,.5*. It's an enjoyable watch, but the ending is likely very divisive.
