I personally enjoyed this more than the second one, it's basically Saw meets the Fast & the Furious. JR2 leaned more towards the horror side than the original, however 3 ups the ante. The kills in this film are absolutely brutal!, and Ken Girzinger is Rusty Nail in this film is absolutely perfect casting, this is my second favorite in the Joy Ride Trilogy. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Honestly, this is the worst of the Joy Ride movies, though not really due to the actors who were pretty good with the roles they were given. However, the main issue is the sloppy writing and a bit on the directing, I mean this was from the same guy who made Wrong Turn 3, where three fingers seemingly teleports making it the worst Wrong Turn movie in all honesty. Anyway, a similar issue happens here, since it has Rusty Nail somehow able to find out exactly where the characters are, which makes no sense as it's a long ass high-way that makes it near impossible to find someone, while he's also able to kill off 2 people in just about 10 minutes, even though it takes at least 7 minutes for Mickey to walk to that empty side street as it would take just as long to get Jewel on top of his truck, making it impossible for him to do this unless he became a supernatural killer, which he did not. The movie starts off good, until Rusty gets mad at the racers for kicking rocks up at his truck, yet it took the group in Joy Ride 2 to destroy Rusty's house to get him angry, but this one has the weakesr reasoning tbh. It boils down to the writing being below par for basically any slasher flick, making it hard to watch as it loses more of the charm it barely had. Overall, would not recommend to any horror fan, due to poor writing, directing and just shows how sone people are not meant to write/direct movies/shows/games and etc. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review ryan s 2/5. Run of the mill slasher. Poor writing and stupid characters mar the decent stunts and gore. What we end up with is another subpar slasher sequel and the worst of the three Joy Ride movies. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Another great and bloody installment in the Joy Ride series. I want a fourth film! This one goes back with the original for some decent acting, particularly Hutch, Hollingsworth, Prout and Kirzinger's performances. Scott Weinberg TheHorrorShow Seems to be shooting for an earnest homage to Steven Spielberg's Duel. Not half bad. Aug 24, 2015 Full Review Kevin Carr 7M Pictures With no hope for the characters, there's no emotional investment in a horror film, and it then becomes and expensive albeit creative fake snuff film. Rated: 2/5 Jul 9, 2014 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews The Joy Ride series hits a significant speed bump with this colossally ineffective entry... Rated: 1/4 Jun 26, 2014 Full Review Matt Donato We Got This Covered If you like watching people being splattered against the grill of a death-dealing 18 wheeler, Joy Ride 3 is the perfect movie for you! No, really, it's a hell of a lot of fun at times, with the right mindset. Rated: 6/10 Jun 19, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews
