Christy Lemire FilmWeek (LAist) It feels personal in a lot of the details and production design... That elevates it from a generic story. Mar 3, 2023 Full Review Jude Dry IndieWire The movie holds back at every potential dramatic turn, gripping the emotional reins tight where it could have loosened them. But Rampling brings a quiet gravitas to the surly character. Rated: B Feb 27, 2023 Full Review Rex Reed Observer Charlotte Rampling coming out of semi-retirement is an occasion that should be accompanied by fireworks — and she provides the fireworks herself in this film about healing fractured family dynamics. Rated: 3.5/4 Feb 27, 2023 Full Review William Stottor Loud and Clear Reviews Two stubborn mules – one young, one older – shift from confrontation to affection in the predictable but moving Juniper. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 13, 2024 Full Review Emiliano Basile EscribiendoCine Juniper is a predictable film that seeks emotion and moves through commonplaces of this type of film. However, the enormous presence of Charlotte Rampling fills the screen and justifies its viewing. Saville's debut film breaks away from its emotional devices and predictable approach to emotional catharsis, it successfully gets to the essence of its characters. John E Funny at timesTouching at times.and Charlotte Ram-long all the time. It simply doesnt get any better! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/06/23 Full Review William H I'm 75 years old. I thought the acting in this movie was good however the plot developed slowly and was often tediously boring. It made me feel sad. Unfortunately, we will all face similar circumstances someday assuming we live long enough. I, like most people I'm sure, endeavor to ignore the possibility hoping that it will simply go away. The movie was for me like paying to go see one of my nightmares. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/28/23 Full Review Dana Superb acting and writing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Jill B. Tender, sad, a bit funny. Touching. I really liked it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/05/25 Full Review Richard B Some good moments, but the ending didn't seem to follow any realistic medical laws for NZ. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/18/25 Full Review dave d A Charlotte Rampling feature that is slow and emotionally manipulative. Grandmother and son and grandson and a complicated life of the eldest that is hardly touched on. There is a lot to delve into, but the film stays in neutral. Despite being easy on the eyes, George Ferrier as the grandson doesn't always work. There are minutes without a word, but the moving pictures are most certainly gorgeous. There isn't much there there. Could have been a wonderful short movie. Final Score: 3.6/10 Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/01/24 Full Review Read all reviews
