Audience Member This is interesting because it's so slow and sensory. I saw it at the VCU French Film Festival in 2009 and everyone I saw it with hated it! However, if you're a fan of silent movies, I think you'll be on the right wavelength. An old man sits in a chair outside his villa at the top of a hill in the French southern countryside. Several people come to talk to him about various things as he sits in an aged but content delirium and potters around the property. A heroic effort is made to turn the conversations into an intrigue, but really, all the man is doing is waiting for his daughter to show up, and his daughter is late. The intrigue stuff gets pretty muddled, and, finally, irritating and silly. Still, if the first part of this sounds interesting to you, I bet you'll at least remember the movie a few years after seeing it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
