Synopsis
A German shepherd named Bearheart sees an intoxicated woodsman (Marshall Reed) murder his owner, so the dog tracks the culprit through the wilderness and eventually avenges the death. Unfortunately, the dog must learn to survive in the rugged mountain country without human help, while fending off gun-wielding locals who believe he is a rabid canine. Finally, Bearheart is found by an elderly hunter, Abner (Denver Pyle), who vows to find the dog a family that will care for him.
