See more Mike M 08/12/2008 A very handsome piece, with a strain of authentic, dust-blown poetry in its imagemaking that proves hard to deny or resist, but never quite as assured in its plot or character development as it needs to be; Anderson, so ebullient in "Across the Universe" and "Control", is oddly wan and soporific here, as though the heat had sapped him of all energy or colour. Still, there's definite promise behind the camera - and there aren't all that many female directors at large within the non-Bollywood Indian cinema. With perseverance, the right support and an even slightly better script, Das could well have the field to herself. See more 10/20/2007 My attachment to this movie cannot be explained. It's probably because of my adoration for one: Joe Anderson. His acting ability absolutely astounds me. He's one of the few new actors who just seems so comfortable on the camera.
