Simon T What is it with bayous and fog? Or was the set available, so they retrofitted a script about another bonkers scientist using a serum to transform his dim-witted manservant into a werewolf? George Zucco - better here than in the terrible Mummy series - is the demented boffin and Glenn Strange - Karloff's Frankenstein creature understudy - overacts the Steinbeckian dimwit, in a Donald Trump wig. It's only an hour long, but treads water in the latter stages and feels twice that. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/07/23 Full Review Chris M The revenge involves murder, as he transforms an simple-minded oafish and possibly mentally challenged gardener into a wolf creature. How? By injecting normal wolf's blood into him. I know this was before the atom was split, but the idea of radioactive material was a thing since 1886. So exposing the wolf's blood to radiation or something could have made it a LOT more plausible than, inject wolf blood in person creates werewolf. Plus somehow granting him werewolf powers to be able to take a blast from a double barrel shotgun to the chest without even flinching. They wanted a werewolf but I guess since "The Wolfman" came out in 1941 they were afraid to use the werewolf lure. Either way, what they used was just lazy and dumb. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/10/22 Full Review Audience Member "Gee doc, do you have to strap me down again tonight?" A scientist devises a way to join two species, specifically creating a werewolf by injecting an unwilling and unknowing simple labourer with a wolf's blood serum. Because the scientist was stripped of his university position for working on such experiments, he uses his creation to kill those who tried to prevent his research. His daughter starts to suspect he's up to no good so she and her boyfriend try to discover what her dad does in his laboratory. A real cheapie with a few good moments, but nothing memorable. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member While this is an interesting spin to both the mad scientist/wolfman genre, a poor script, cinematography, and uninspired direction makes this film bearable only to fans of B-movie horror flicks. The only inspired performance is from Mae Busch as the myth-spouting vagrant. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Another great low budget B horror film.
