Audience Member Deft use of archival footage, this excellent documentary pins down officials, including the electric companies' and the Nuclear Regulatory Agency's for their lying and dissembling not just during the initial, frightening first phase of the Three Mile Island nuclear plant accident, but for years afterward. Another half hour of the core meltdown and a good portion of the northeast U.S. could have been rendered uninhabitable for generations. Also skilfully explains exactly what happened. Less compelling are constant dramatic music and excessive attention paid to lacrymose, sobbing locals decades after the incident. Could also have used better focus on the awful performance of the news media in the initial phase, which often tended toward hysterical. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
