Over sixty years after China's Most Wanted Man escaped from occupied Tibet, the powerful documentary follows The Dalai Lama as he recounts his escape through the Tibetan borderlands into India to tell his remarkable escape story as he fled in 1959. One of the most significant moments of 20th-century history, Never Forget Tibet tells the secret story of the Dalai Lama's journey into exile told in his own words through exclusive access to the Dalai Lama and the previously unknown private diary of the Indian political officer who led him to safety, Har Mander Singh. Incorporating interviews with the Dalai Lama's family, the Tibetan Community living in Exile and those with historic ties to Tibet, this culturally significant story offers insights into the importance of our shared worldwide humanity and reveals the incredible details of the Dalai Lama's escape and his wider message of compassion firsthand. It also documents the rich art, culture, and traditions of the region.

Cath Clarke Guardian Narrated with dignified gravitas by Hugh Bonneville, its selling point is an interview with the Dalai Lama, speaking on film for the first time about his escape from Tibet in 1959, aged 23. Rated: 3/5 Apr 19, 2023 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews It's not a mesmerizing film but works just fine as a tribute to someone admired all over the world for preaching his compassionate beliefs in such a turbulent world. Rated: B Apr 25, 2023 Full Review James Croot Stuff.co.nz Never Forget Tibet really does have an incredible story to tell. And the Dalai Lama himself is a vastly inspirational and admirable figure, with an unexpectedly terrific sense of humour. Rated: 4/5 Dec 9, 2022 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix Never Forget Tibet is not a groundbreaking chronicle of the Dalai Lama, but it's an interesting peek inside the mind and memories of a historical figure whose impact transcends borders and political beliefs. Joseph W The movie portion itself seemed to be a handful of vignettes only related by the fact that they have a connection to the Dalai Lama, and did not seem to really break any new ground. The post-movie material quickly went off the rails with little additional context. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/01/22 Full Review JULIA M Dull movie about a brilliant individual. Should have been so much better. Disappointed. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/01/22 Full Review Glp Hearing the story about the Dalai's harrowing escape from Chinese-occupied Tibet, and subsequent residency in India, was very interesting. I'd never known about the nuns who eventually escaped prison, nor the backstory of 7 Years in Tibet. The film's pace, poor production and direction left a lot to be desired. Overall, I recommend it for his followers for the mainstream, no. Following this movie (which is really only 1.25 hours at best) are segments from some of his zoom lectures with students - the same ones you'll find on his facebook page - which are interesting if you don't follow him on facebook. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/01/22 Full Review disappointed The first part of the movie was mediocre but unfortunately forgot to tell us about the atrocities that Tibetans faced. The second part of the movie was largely irrelevant to the title, ending with white women chanting rather than Tibetans who are from the country that the movie says we should not forget. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/04/22 Full Review Nancy I am a member of the International Campaign for Tibet but since Covid, unable to be a more solid follower. This movie truly brought back all the reasons why I became interested in the Dalai Lama, his struggles and philosophy. Thank you for making this movie available at my local movie theater. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/01/22 Full Review Craig H The film has some unique insights into the plight of Tibet. The interviews with the Dalai Lama were intruigining as was the back story of Heinrich Harrer who wrote 'Seven Years in Tibet'. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews
