Kathy Fennessy Seattle Film Blog None of this is especially clever or funny, not least the incessant sexism. If objectification was always part of Fritz the Cat's world, it's simply more pernicious this time around. Rated: 2.5/4 Oct 7, 2023 Full Review B.L. Panther The Spool [The Nine Lives of Fritz the Cat] mistakes the source of Fritz's draw and power, which is not in the grotesque itself but its function - that it is not raunch for raunch's sake. Nov 28, 2021 Full Review Dick Lochte Los Angeles Free Press An animated travesty so tasteless and dull that only masochistic cinema addicts need apply. Dec 12, 2019 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com Rated: 3/5 Jul 31, 2005 Full Review Ryan Cracknell Apollo Guide The content is memorable, but for its stupidity and pointlessness rather than intelligence and attitude. Anderson O This movie should have been band. Maybe it was way before my Time, but I don’t know exactly what Robert Crumb was trying to get accross with the 9 lives of Fritz the Cat, but this is an embarrassing excuse for a comicbook adaptation. It was truthful for the LSD era I guest. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Started out fine but got worse as the move progressed, what should have been a fine expereance like the first one, it lost it after the first "Like". Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Can be summarised in one word: pointless. There were probably many social messages this film was trying to convey, but much of it just comes across as gratuitous and hamfisted. The original Fritz The Cat film while at times clunky in its social critique nonetheless delivered a more insightful look into the social issues of the times. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Nowhere near as good as the original but still worth watching. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Unnecessary, unimaginative sequel made to cash in on the original's success; low point is a musical interlude set to a disco song.
