What to Know

Critics Consensus

Emily Bett Rickards is terrific in this straightforward sports biopic, which puts on a good show even if it only glancingly grapples with the surface of its true story.

Scott Marks San Diego Reader I took more from Avildsen’s commitment to his subject than I would from watching 10 big-budget celebrity biopics combined. Rated: 3/5 Mar 26, 2025 Full Review Murtada Elfadl Variety “Queen of the Ring” is more of a montage of the highlights of Burke’s illustrious life, rather than an entertaining film. Mar 11, 2025 Full Review William Bibbiani TheWrap An incredibly direct motion picture, and sometimes the limitations of its budget put a strain on the ambitious multi-decade narrative, but it’s a film — and a cast — that demands thunderous applause anyway. Mar 7, 2025 Full Review Sarah Vincent Sarah G Vincent Views If “Queen of the Ring” had done a better job with pacing and found a way to share the spotlight with the vast ensemble cast without feeling random and scattered, it could have become the next “A League of Their Own” (1992). Mar 23, 2025 Full Review Michael Ward Should I See It Earnestly and passionately made. Rated: 3/5 Mar 16, 2025 Full Review Garrett Martin Paste Magazine It’s all perfunctory, paint-by-numbers, and played out, without the spark or personality that separates journeyman wrestlers from the real stars. Iris N. Very good movie. Lead performance was excellent. Showed a sport I wasn't familiar with, especially which was not made readily available to women at that time. Good acting from the lead woman wrestler & the other woman wrestlers, some who appeared to be actual wrestlers. I learned a lot about how women were physically able to compete, even if smaller than their Mail counterparts. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/25/25 Full Review Michael T Not one dull moment in this movie. This story is amazing and it left me wanting more. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/20/25 Full Review Rogelio Valencia I loved this movie to all wrestling fans ❤️ go and watch it give it a chance 👍 I love muscle mommies Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/20/25 Full Review Matthew Great movie. I went for my wrestling fan husband but ended up enjoying the story line. Id say give it a chance. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/16/25 Full Review Joe Swen This movie is awesome!
